In Hospice by Dawn Jelley

In Hospice

                I do not see death,
                I see love…

                I have seen love
                Caught behind anger,
                Hidden in shame,
                Spread on toast…

                I have seen love
                Dropped in one tear,
                Seasoned into soup,
                Lotioned into skin…

                I have seen love
                Without words,
                Between yells,
                Within whispers…

                And I have been honoured
                To have been witness
                To so much…
